My name is David Laurin. I am the owner of North County IT Consulting. I am an experienced Information Technology professional with over twenty years of experience in management. IT is not my first career, but it is my favorite one! I have worked as a Retail Manager, a Chef, and in the United States Air Force. I have always had talent for technology. I love to see how technology works and how it can be improved.

In 2009, I realized that I could no longer work in restaurants because I have psoriatic arthritis. Walking and standing for extended periods of time was starting to hurt. So, I went back to school. I completed my associate's degree in business administration in one year. After that, I went directly into a bachelor’s degree in IT security program and completed that with Suma Claude honors in two years. I completed my master’s degree in IT Security and Assurance by 2015 while working within the IT business.

In 2016, I started a professional doctorate program. My dissertation research, (Measuring Trust in Managed IT Service Providers) led me to open my Managed IT Service Provider business in 2017. Managed IT Service Provider, (MSP) businesses were starting to become a popular way for small and medium sized businesses to use the same technological expertise as larger businesses without the huge overhead that comes from a dedicated IT department. I saw the need through my research and shifted my focus to building a business.

Today, North County IT Consulting is all setup to provide a full-service IT department complete with a Network Operations Center, (NOC) and a Security Operations Center, (SOC) to many small and medium sized enterprises. I have selected the right partners to provide software that allows North County IT Consulting to manage monitor hundreds of endpoints. I have completed many network upgrades, including ripping and installing new networking equipment across multiple sites, server installations and upgrades, and migration from physical servers to Microsoft SharePoint.

We have the resources to be your one-stop application provider, leveraging partners like PAX8, Ingram Micro, and Sherweb. If you need a new telephone service, we partner with a VOIP provider that integrates with Microsoft Teams. My absolute favorite thing to do, is upgrade a small business’ information technology and security while saving them money. We can also provide security services, like penetration testing, and soon, we will have the ability to complete SOC reports.
